Uninstall a vScanner in an AWS environment

Note: When you decommission a virtual scanner, all associated scan schedules and denylists are lost. To obtain a copy of these settings, contact your CST to collect this information before decommissioning the scanner. After decommissioning the scanner, the settings are not recoverable.
  1. Decommission the virtual appliance:
    1. Sign in to the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal.
    2. In the navigation menu, click Data Collection > Scanners.
    3. Find the virtual appliance that you want to decommission, and then click Configure.
    4. Click Decommission Scanner, and then select Decommission Virtual Appliance when prompted.
  2. Turn off termination protection:
    1. In the AWS web console, click to Instances.
    2. Click Actions > Instance Settings > Change termination protection.
    3. Clear the Enable checkbox.
    4. Click Save.
  3. Remove the EC2 instance:
    1. In the AWS web console, click Instance state.
    2. Click Terminate Instance.

      The EC2 instance shuts down and the associated disk resources are removed.
