Managed RiskvScanners

As part of Arctic Wolf® Managed Risk, install a Virtual Scanner (vScanner) to perform continuous risk monitoring and vulnerability assessments. The vScanner provides context for vulnerabilities that you might have in your environment. Vulnerabilities that the vScanner discovers appear in the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal.

Note: This is an Internal Vulnerability Assessment (IVA) scanner for internal network scanning only. If you require External Vulnerability Assessment (EVA) scanning, contact your CST. For more information about EVA scanning, see EVA overview.

The scanner virtual machine (VM) is designed for rapid and continuous scanning to process all the network hosts as quickly as possible. It is normal for the scanner to consume all of the virtual CPU (vCPU) allocated to it. This could be undesirable in a highly overloaded virtualized environment, and allocating more resources might be difficult in the short term. In this situation, Arctic Wolf recommends using the minimum system requirements as described in Install an Arctic Wolf vScanner. If CPU consumption is an issue, try deploying a physical scanner as described in Install an Arctic Wolf 200 series scanner.
