Start a background threat detection scan

Start an on-demand background threat detection scan on devices from the legacy view of the Devices page.

Note:

  • Starting a background scan automatically stops any scan currently in progress on the device.

  • If background threat detection scans are running on multiple VM devices from the same VM host at the same time, device performance can be impacted due to resource sharing.

These resources are required:

  • Devices must be running the Aurora Protect agent version 3.2 or newer.

  • You must be in the legacy view of the Devices page.

  1. Sign in to the Aurora Endpoint Security console.
  2. Click Assets > Devices.
  3. Select the devices that you want to perform the background scan on.
  4. Click Background scan.
  5. Click Yes.
The Aurora Endpoint Security console logs the completion date and time of the most recent background scan for the devices. If recurring background threat detection is set in the assigned device policy, the next scheduled scan time is recalculated accordingly.
