Upgrade a scanner immediately

If you have an appliance upgrade scheduled, you can upgrade it immediately instead of the specified date.

Appliances can take up to six hours to upgrade. When the appliance updates, there may be interruptions in connectivity. We recommend upgrading the appliance when there will be low activity in your environment.

These resources are required:

  • The Activate Virtual Appliances permission in the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal

  1. Sign in to the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Data Collection > Scanners.
  3. Optional: In the Upgrade Status field, select Pending to filter for appliances that have an upgrade pending.
  4. Select the appliances that you want to upgrade.
  5. Click Upgrade Now.
    Note: If the appliance cannot be upgraded, the Upgrade Now button is grayed out.
  6. Click Confirm.
    The Upgrade Status changes to In Progress. For more information about sensor statuses, see View scanners.
