Replace an AWN200 Sensor with an AWN201 Sensor using internal tap

You can replace the AWN200 Sensor with the AWN201 Sensor using internal tap.

These resources are required:

  • An AWN200 Sensor

These actions are required:

  • Verify that you received these items from Arctic Wolf:
    • AWN201 Sensor
      Note:

Your sensor has a tamper-evident asset ID: AWN-12XXXXXX. Contact security@arcticwolf.com if the asset ID is missing or was tampered with.

    • Three CAT6 RJ45 Ethernet cables, 2m
    • Crossover RJ45 Ethernet cable (red), 2m — Use only if needed
    • An AC30 US power cord
      Note:
      • If you are in these countries, you are shipped a country specific power cord:
        • Australia
        • Brazil
        • China
        • European Union
        • India
        • Israel
        • Italy
        • Switzerland
        • United Kingdom
      • If you are outside of these countries, you are shipped an AC30 US power cord.
    • Set of rack ears — Use only if needed
  1. Install the AWN201 Sensor in the applicable rack location. If necessary, use the provided rack ears.
  2. On the AWN200 Sensor, disconnect the CAT6 RJ45 Ethernet cables from ports 1, 2, 3, and 4, and then, on the AWN201 Sensor, connect them to ports 0, 1, 2, and 3 respectively.
    Tip:

For port information, see AWN200 Sensor components and AWN201 Sensor components.

  3. Disconnect the CAT6 RJ45 Ethernet cable from the management port on the AWN200 Sensor, and then connect it to the management port on the AWN201 Sensor.
  4. Turn on the sensor power.

The Power LED is green when the sensor power is on.

  5. Ping the management IP address that you provided to Arctic Wolf to verify network connectivity.
  6. Wait 15 minutes, and then make sure the status LED is green. This shows that the sensor is connected to the Arctic Wolf monitoring service.
  7. If you cannot successfully complete these steps, contact your CST at security@arcticwolf.com.
  8. Use the return label to ship the old sensor back to Arctic Wolf.
  9. Contact Arctic Wolf to make sure that sensor connectivity, flows, and logs are functioning correctly. Use the ticket for the sensor replacement.
