Create a new scan schedule

Note:

Hosts that match a scheduled target are only run at the scheduled time.

  1. Sign in to the Risk Dashboard.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Config > Scanner Config.
  3. In the Scanning Schedule section, click Add a new scan schedule.

    The Configure Scanner Schedule dialog appears.

    Tip:

    Click Cancel or press ESC to close this dialog.

  4. In the Targets field, enter the IP addresses or networks of the targets you want scanned.

    You can use these formats:

    • A single IP address. For example,
      CODE 
      192.168.0.2
    • A contiguous IP address range. For example,
      CODE 
      192.168.0.3-6
      CODE 
      192.168.0.2-192.168.11.254
    • A non-contiguous IP address range. For example,
      CODE 
      192.168.0-6.1
    • A CIDR notation for a single IP. For example,
      CODE 
      192.168.0.2/32
    • A CIDR notation range. For example,
      CODE 
      192.168.0.4/30
  5. In the Type list, select one of these options:
    • Continuous — The scan runs continuously.
    • Daily — The scan runs one time each day. When selected, these options appear:
      • Start Time — Select the time that you want the scan to start. The time is set using a 24-hour clock.
      • Scan Window (Hours) — Select the scan window. The default value is 8.
    • Weekly — The scan runs one time each week. When selected, these options appear:
      • Weekday checkboxes — Select the days of the week the scan will run.
      • Start Time — Select the time that you want the scan to start. The time is set using a 24-hour clock.
      • Scan Window (Hours) — Select the scan window. The default value is 8.
    • Monthly — The scan runs one time each month. When selected, these options appear:
      • Date & Time — Enter a date and time that you want the scan to start. The time is set using a 24-hour clock.
      • Scan Window (Hours) — Select the scan window. The default value is 8.
  6. In the Priority list, select one of these options:
    • Low — This scan runs after all other scans are complete.
    • Medium — This scan runs after high priority scans, but before low priority scans.
    • High — This scan completes before all other scans.
      Note:

      If there is a high priority scan that does not complete in the scanning time window, any low or medium scans never run.

  7. Click Configure to save your changes.
