Some supported operating systems have additional requirements or considerations.

Windows OS


Supported OS	Requirements
All supported Windows OS versions	.NET Framework 4.6.2 or later TLS 1.2 For virtual machine requirements, deployment guidance, and best practices, see Best practices for deploying Aurora Protect Desktop on Windows virtual machines. Aurora Protect Desktop does not support scanning unhydrated files from Microsoft OneDrive. Verify that the latest Windows security updates have been installed on devices before installing or upgrading the Aurora Protect Desktop agent.
Windows 11 (64-bit)	x64 and ARM64 device architectures are supported. ARM64 support requires Aurora Protect Desktop version 3.4.1001 or higher. Case-sensitive file systems are not supported. These device policies are not supported on ARM64 devices: Script control Memory protection Application control
Windows 10 (32-bit, 64-bit)	All editions of Windows 10 are supported. Case-sensitive file systems are not supported. Windows 10 (v1809, October 2018 update): Unified Write Filter (UWF) is not supported. Disable UWF before installing the agent.
Windows Server 2025 (64-bit)	Standard, Data Center, and Core editions are supported. For Data Center editions, the agent does not support: Hyper-V Server Role for Shielded Virtual Machines Host Guardian Hyper-V Support Software-defined Networking Storage Spaces Direct Storage Server 2025 is not supported.
Windows Server 2022 (64-bit)	Standard, Data Center, and Core editions are supported. For Data Center editions, the agent does not support: Hyper-V Server Role for Shielded Virtual Machines Host Guardian Hyper-V Support Software-defined Networking Storage Spaces Direct Storage Server 2022 is not supported.
Windows Server 2019 (64-bit)	Standard, Data Center, and Core editions are supported. For Data Center editions, the agent does not support: Hyper-V Server Role for Shielded Virtual Machines Host Guardian Hyper-V Support Software-defined Networking Storage Spaces Direct Storage Server 2019 is not supported.
Windows Server 2016 (64-bit)	Standard, Data Center, Essentials, and Server Core editions are supported. Nano Server and Storage Server are not supported.
Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 (64-bit)	Standard, Data Center, Essentials, Server Core, Embedded, and Foundation editions are supported. Minimal Server Interface and Storage Server are not supported.

macOS


Supported OS	Requirements
All supported macOS versions	TLS 1.2 Verify that these root certificates are installed. If they are missing, the agent might not start, or the device might not be able to communicate with the management console. For more information, see KB 42221196027419. VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5 Thawte Primary Root CA DigiCert Global Root CA For virtual machine requirements, deployment guidance, and best practices, see Best practices for deploying Aurora Protect Desktop on Windows virtual machines. Case-sensitive volume formats are not supported.
macOS Big Sur (11) and later	See KB 42221071949979 for Sequoia and KB 42221185470363 for legacy environments. Enable Full Disk Access. If Full Disk Access is not enabled, Aurora Protect Desktop cannot process files secured by user data protection. For more information, see KB 42221301076123. See Troubleshooting macOS installations. These Memory Protection violations are supported: Remote Allocation of Memory, Remote Mapping of Memory, Remote Write to Memory, Remote Unmap of Memory. Other Memory Protection violations are not supported.

Linux OS


Supported OS	Requirements
All supported Linux OS versions	An internet connection is required. See the Supported Linux kernels spreadsheet. TLS 1.2 Required packages: `bzip2(x86-64)` `dbus-libs` (For RHEL/CentOS 7.x or 8.x, version 1.10.24 or higher is required.) `glibc` `glibc-debuginfo.x86_64` (For RHEL 8.x or 9.x) `gtk3` (for RHEL/CentOS) `libgcc` `libc6-dbg` (for Debian 12 and Ubuntu) `openssl` (for RHEL/CentOS 6.x) `openssl-libs` (for RHEL/CentOS 7.x) `sqlite` Root certificates: VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5 Thawte Primary Root CA DigiCert Global Root CA GNOME versions supported for the 2.1.1590 agent: 3.28 3.20 3.14 3.10 3.8 Virtual machines are supported.
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (64-bit) Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (64-bit) Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (64-bit) Ubuntu 20.04 (64-bit) Ubuntu 18.04 (64-bit)	Azure and AWS Ubuntu kernels are not supported. Use the Aurora Protect Desktop Secure Boot CA certificate to support UEFI Secure Boot. For more information, see Enable Linux Secure Boot.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (64-bit) Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS 8 (64-bit) Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS 7 (64-bit)	Use the Aurora Protect Desktop Secure Boot CA certificate to support UEFI Secure Boot. For more information, see Enable Linux Secure Boot. FIPS is supported. For instructions to enable FIPS, see the Red Hat documentation for your OS.

Using Aurora Protect Desktop with other antivirus software

If third-party antivirus software is installed on devices with Aurora Protect Desktop, you may need to perform some additional configuration tasks to make sure those products do not interfere with the functionality of Aurora Protect Desktop. For more information, see KB 42221195629979.
