Release Notes: Aurora Protect and Aurora Focus for Windows Devices with ARM64

The Aurora Protect and Aurora Focus 3.4 agents for Windows devices with ARM64 processors are currently available for select customers only. These versions of the agents are exclusively for Windows devices with 64-bit ARM processors, such as Snapdragon.

What's New

Native support for Windows on ARM64

New versions of Aurora Protect and Aurora Focus agent 3.4 that natively support Windows devices with ARM64 processors are now available. The management console has been updated to support these devices. You can download these agents in the Aurora Endpoint Defense console from the Settings > Deployment menu by selecting the arm64 | msi option.

Note that these agents focus on the detection of malicious file and process executions, and building related Aurora Focus EDR telemetry. Memory protection, script control, and application control device policy features are currently not supported on ARM64 devices. Policy features for Focus that are related to Intel processors are also not supported.

Best practices and considerations

Device policies for ARM64 devices

Create separate device policies specifically for ARM64 devices. This allows you to manage policies for ARM64 devices separately and test them without affecting other devices.

Some device policy feature settings for Protect and Focus are currently not supported on ARM64 devices. It is best practice to turn them off to avoid any unexpected behavior, even though these policy features should have no effect.

Turn off these policy features for ARM64 devices:

  • Memory protection
  • Script control
  • Application control

If you are using Focus, turn off these policy features:

  • API sensor
  • Intel cryptomining detection
  • COM object visibility
  • Module load visibility
  • HTTP visibility
