View an asset profile

The Asset Profile page includes detailed information about a single asset. It includes information that is not on the Assets page, such as, the asset ID, software, and software version.

  1. Sign in to the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Data Collection > Assets.
  3. Depending on the type of asset profile that you want to view, click one of these tabs:
    • Devices
    • External IPs
    • Domains
  4. For the device or asset that you want to view, in the Actions column, click View Asset.
    Note: Depending on which tab is open, you can click a specific asset or device link in the Device Name or Asset Name column.
    The Asset Profile: <asset_name> page displays with this information:
    • Risk Score — The current risk score of the asset. The risk score range is from 0 to 10.
    • Risks — The number of risks detected on the asset. Click the link to view the risks.
    • Last Seen — The date and time when the IP address of the asset was last verified. This is not the last time that the asset was online.
    • Last Successful Scan — The date and time of the last complete scan of the asset.
    • Depending on the tab that you viewed the asset from, this information is provided:
      • Asset Details — Available for asset profiles viewed from the Devices, External IPs, and Domains tabs. It provides detailed information about an asset.

      • Network Interface Details — Available for asset profiles viewed from the Devices tab. It provides information about the network interfaces that are associated with your assets.

      • Software — Available for asset profiles viewed from the Devices tab. It provides information about the software that is installed on the asset.

      • Exposed Services — Available for asset profiles viewed from the External IPs tab. It provides information about the network interfaces that are associated with an asset.

Asset Details tab

On the Asset Profile page, the Asset Details tab provides details about an asset.

These details are available:
  • Asset Criticality — The criticality of the asset. This is how important this asset is to the day-to-day operations at your company. The higher the criticality the bigger the business disruption in the event of an incident.

  • Asset Name — The name of the asset.
  • Category — The category of the asset. For example, Desktop, Laptop, or Printer. This information helps you to identify the purpose of the asset.
  • Domains — Depending on the asset, this is the domain that the asset is a member of for resource sharing and security rules, or the domain names that resolve to the asset IP address.
  • Hostname — The hostname of the asset.
  • ID — The identification (ID) of the asset.
  • IP Address — The IP address that is associated with the asset.
    Note: It is possible to have more than one asset with the same IP Address because of DHCP behavior. If this occurs, you can ignore or delete the duplicate asset.
  • NetBIOS — The NetBIOS Name Service (NBNS) of the asset, if available.
  • Operating System — The OS of the asset and, if available, the version. For example, Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS, openbsd, or Microsoft Windows Server 2019 Essentials 10.0.177/63.
  • Parent Domain — The parent domain associated with the asset. For example, arcticwolf.com.
  • Source(s) — The scan that discovered the asset. Options include: Agent or IVA.
  • Tags — Lists the tags that are associated with the asset. This can be used to help group assets for risk remediation.

Network Interface Details tab

On the Asset Profile page, the Network Interface Details tab provides information about the network interfaces that are associated with your assets.

The table has these columns:
  • Adapter — The network interface that connects the asset to the network and allows it to communicate with other devices on the network. For example, Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
  • IP Address — The IP addresses associated with the adapter of the asset.
  • MAC Address — The media access control (MAC) addresses associated with the adapter of the asset.

You can search, filter, and sort the information in the table. The table row spacing is also adjustable.

Software tab

On the Asset Profile page, the Software tab provides information about the software that is installed on your assets.

The table has these columns:
  • Name — The name of the software that is installed on the asset.
  • Vendor — The vendor of the software that is installed on the asset.
  • Version — The version of the software that is installed on the asset.

You can search, filter, and sort the information in the table. The table row spacing is also adjustable.

Exposed Services tab

On the Asset Profile page, the Exposed Services tab provides information about the network interfaces that are associated with an asset:

These details are available:
  • Port — Port numbers on the asset that are detected as actively accepting incoming connections and data.
  • Product — The product description of the asset.
  • Protocol — The network protocols that are used by the asset.
  • Service — The type of service that the asset provides.
