Risk lifecycle

All risks that are detected in your network have a Status value associated with them. This value is automatically assigned as the risk disappears or reappears in your network.

Newly discovered risks have a Status of Unresolved. This status indicates that a scanner has detected the risk at least once and that none of the conditions to resolve the risk have been met.

A risk can become Resolved if:
  • The last successful scan did not detect the risk.
  • The asset that the risk was associated with is deleted.
Note: Risks associated with assets that are marked as Inactive can still reappear if the asset becomes Active again. Risks associated with assets that were completely deleted will not reappear. For more information, see Delete assets and Mark assets as inactive.
  • Not detected within the last 45 days.
