Arctic Wolf Agent diagnostic tool

You can run the Arctic Wolf® Agent and Active Directory (AD) Sensor diagnostic tool on Linux, macOS, or Windows.

The diagnostic tool:

  • Tests connections
  • Tests services
  • Gathers configuration and log files

The signed diagnostic tool runs several scripts, displays the output, and creates a zip file with this information:

  • OS and hardware information:
    • Memory
    • CPU cores
    • Disk space
    • Maximum clock speed
    • OS version
    • OS architecture
  • Bandwidth test results in Mbps:
    • Upload speed
    • Download speed
    • Average speed
  • Agent install directory files and folder
  • For Windows:
    • PowerShell version
    • AD Sensor logs and scripts
    • Sysmon version and configuration, if installed

Run the Arctic Wolf Agent diagnostic tool

  1. Contact your Concierge Security® Team (CST) for:
  2. Run the tool using your operating system:
    • Windows — Run the diagnostic tool:
      1. In File Explorer, find the diagnostic tool executable file that you received from your CST.
      2. Right-click the diagnostic file, and then select Run as Administrator.
      3. When prompted, press any key to complete the diagnostic.
        Note:

        It might take up to 10 minutes for the Windows diagnostic to complete.

    • macOS — Run the diagnostic tool:
      1. In a terminal, navigate to the location of the tool.
      2. Run these commands:
        SHELL
        sudo chmod u+x ./agent-diagnostic-tool-mac
        sudo ./agent-diagnostic-tool-mac
      3. When prompted, press any key to complete the diagnostic.
    • Linux — Run the diagnostic tool:
      1. In a terminal, navigate to the location of the tool.
      2. Run these commands:
        SHELL
        sudo chmod u+x ./awn-agent-debug
        sudo ./awn-agent-debug
      3. When prompted, press any key to complete the diagnostic.

Send the Arctic Wolf Agent diagnostic tool output to Arctic Wolf

  1. Upload the zip file using the URL provided by your CST.
  2. Contact your CST to inform them that the file is uploaded.
