Install the Aurora Engine on a Windows distribution

  1. Download the appropriate Aurora Engine package from the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal.
    1. Sign in to the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal.
    2. In the navigation menu, click Resources > Downloads.
    3. In the Aurora Endpoint Software Downloads section, in the Product field, select Aurora Engine.
    4. Search for the latest version of the Aurora Engine for your Windows distribution and download it.
    • Aurora Engine Service v1.2.0 - Win x64 is an MSI installation package.
    • Aurora Engine Service v1.2.0 - Generic Win x64 is a portable ZIP package.
  2. Do one of the following:

    Install the Aurora Engine with the MSI installer.

    Run the MSI installer using an account with sufficient permissions to install and start a system service.

    Install the Aurora Engine without an installer.

    The only requirement for the location of the files from the package is that the log file path must point to a writable location.
