Edit an asset category

You can change the category that is associated with an asset to more accurately identify the purpose of the asset.

Note: The Category values do not synchronize between the Unified Portal and Risk Dashboard. For example, if you change the Category of an asset in the Unified Portal, the change is not applied to that asset in the Risk Dashboard.
  1. Sign in to the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Data Collection > Assets.
  3. For the asset that you want to edit, in the Actions column, click View Asset.
  4. Click Edit Asset Details.
  5. In the Category list, select one of these options:
    • Unassigned — The default value when there is not enough information to classify the asset.
    • Desktop — A desktop or laptop computer asset.
    • Firewall — A firewall asset.
    • Server — A server asset.
    • Printer — A printer asset.
    • Network — Any physical or digital asset that contributes to network operations and performance.
    • Embedded — An asset that is integrated into a larger system, like software.
    • IoT — Any asset that is equipped with sensors or tracking devices to monitor its real-time location and status over the internet.
    • Other — Any asset that does not fit an existing category.
  6. Click Save Changes.
