Request a physical scanner
Provide the information necessary for Arctic Wolf® to provision and ship a physical scanner.
- Sign in to the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal.
- In the navigation menu, click
Data Collection > Scanners.
- In the Available Licenses section, click
Add Scanner.
Note: If you have no licenses for the desired hardware model, you can click Request Licenses to contact your Customer Success team. - In the Type section:
- In the Scanner Type list, select Physical Scanner.
- In the Scanner Name field, enter a unique name for the scanner.
- Click Next: Network Configuration.
- In the Network Configuration section, enter these IP address and network configuration details:
Tip: You can change these settings later using a serial console session.
- Static IP Address — Enter a static IP address. If you cannot provide a static IP address, select Static IP Address Unavailable.
Note: If you select Static IP Address Unavailable, make sure that there is a DHCP reservation for this scanner.
- Subnet mask — If you entered a static IP address, enter the subnet mask.
- Gateway — If you entered a static IP address, enter the IP address of the default gateway.
- Primary DNS Server — If you entered a static IP address, enter the address of the primary DNS server.
- Secondary DNS Server — This field is optional. If you entered a static IP address, if desired, enter the IP address of the secondary DNS server.
- Static IP Address — Enter a static IP address. If you cannot provide a static IP address, select Static IP Address Unavailable.
- Click Next: Site Details.
- In the Site Details section:
- In the Site list, select the name of the site where the scanner will be deployed.
If a site is missing from the list, click Add New Site
and enter the required site information. For more information, see Add a site.
Note: Only add a new site if Arctic Wolf will routinely monitor or collect data from this location for security purposes. If this location is used for shipping and receiving only, proceed to the next step. - In the Shipping Address section:
- To ship the scanner directly to the deployment site — Select Same as Site Address.
- To ship the scanner to another location — Enter a shipping address.
Note: This address is used for shipping purposes only. Completing this step does not add a new site to your organization profile. Your organization is responsible for transporting the scanner to the site where it will be deployed.
- In the Shipping Contact section, in Shipping Contact list, select a contact. If the desired contact is not listed, select Add New.
This contact is responsible for receiving the shipment.
Note: If you select Add New, entering new contact information does not add a new user account to your organization profile or grant access to the Unified Portal. This contact information is used for shipping purposes only. - Optional: In the Shipping Notes section, in the Additional Shipping Information box, if applicable, write any special delivery instructions.
- In the Site list, select the name of the site where the scanner will be deployed.
- Click Next: Review and Confirm.
- Review the completed form for accuracy.
- Click Add Scanner.
A scanner profile is added. This scanner profile has the New status to indicate that your request for a physical scanner is awaiting review.
Tip: While the scanner status is New, you can edit the scanner profile to change network configuration and other settings before the scanner is shipped to you. You can edit the scanner profile until the status changes to Preparing to Ship.
