Edit asset criticality

You can associate an asset with a pre-defined Asset Criticality value. This value is optional. It displays for any risks that are discovered on an asset, and it can help you with risk mitigation planning.

  1. Sign in to the Arctic Wolf Unified Portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Data Collection > Assets.
  3. For the asset that you want to edit, in the Actions column, click View Asset.
  4. Click Edit Asset Details.
  5. In the Asset Criticality list, select one of these options:
    • Unassigned — The default value for all assets.
    • None — Wait to remediate the risk, for example, because the assets are not interconnected with business systems.
    • Low — Wait to remediate the risk until higher-priority tasks are complete. The assets are unlikely targets for malicious activity or have negligible negative impact if compromised.
    • Medium — Monitor for risk escalation. The assets have a moderate negative impact if compromised.
    • High — Isolate and limit asset use until the risk is remediated. The assets have short-term compensating controls available or are interconnected with external systems.
    • Critical — Remediate the risk immediately. The assets are essential to your operation or are likely targets for malicious activity.
  6. Click Save Changes.
