Overview

This guide describes how to replace the AWN100 Sensor with the AWN101 Sensor in a internal tap deployment.

Replacing the sensor

To perform the replacement:

  1. Rack the sensor in its final location.

  2. Cable the new sensor so that each cable is in the same port number as before. For example, the cable from Port 1 on the AWN100 Sensor becomes Port 1 on the AWN101 Sensor.

    See the diagrams below for all port numbers.

    Note: The ports for the AWN101 Sensor are in reverse order from the AWN100 Sensor that you previously deployed.

  3. Plug in and power on the sensor. The illustration below shows the locations of the power plug and button.

Tip: Tighten the sleeve on the plug to ensure a secure connection.

  1. Ping the management IP address that you provided to Arctic Wolf to verify network connectivity.

  2. Wait 15 minutes, and then verify if the Sensor Status LED, which is second from the top, turns green. This means that the sensor is connected to the Arctic Wolf monitoring service.

  3. Email security@arcticwolf.com if you cannot perform steps 3, 4, or 5 successfully.

  4. Use the return label to ship the old sensor back to Arctic Wolf.

  5. Using the ticket for the sensor replacement, contact Arctic Wolf to confirm that sensor connectivity, flows, and logs are functioning correctly.
