Evaluate your Current Risk Score

The Current Risk Score is an overall risk score that represents the entire environment of risk in your network, including external, internal, host, and cloud risks. You should evaluate your risk score on a monthly or quarterly basis, and then note the risk types that impact your risk score the most. Risks with a high vulnerability score affect your Current Risk Score more than risks with a low vulnerability score.

  1. Sign in to the Risk Dashboard.

  2. In the navigation menu, click any page, except the Scanner Console page.

Note: The Scanner Console page does not display your current risk score.

  3. In the Current Risk Score box, click Information.

    The Risk Score window appears.

  4. To review the risk score data, do these actions:

    • Make note of these categories, and the Score and Severities associated with each:
      • Configuration
      • Patch Exploits
      • Uncategorized
    • Make sure that the highest scoring Category matches the overall published Risk Score.
    • Make note of the Severities with a High rating. They have the most significant impact on the risk score.
  5. Click X to close the Risk Score window.

  6. In the navigation menu, click Risks.

  7. In the Filters section, in the Search bar, enter the name of the category you want to review the risks for.

Tip: The search is a full-text search, so it could show risks from a different Category that has the search words in the description. You can export the search results list as a CSV file to view the Category of each result.
